Football lineup builder

Pick a real squad or name your own team, choose from 16 formations, fill your starting XI and share it as an image. It takes about a minute, and if the club has a game coming up, your lineup becomes a prediction scored against the real teamsheet.

How it works

  1. 01

    Pick a team

Choose a club and its real, current squad loads in. Building for your own side instead? Type a team name and your players.

  2. 02

    Choose a formation

Sixteen shapes, from the 4-4-2 and the 4-3-3 to a back three with wing-backs or a back five.

  3. 03

    Fill your XI

Tap a position and pick a player. Search by any part of a name, and see who started the last match first.

  4. 04

    Share it

Save and you get a link straight away. It unfurls as a pitch image on X, WhatsApp and Discord.

Start from a Premier League squad

Tap a club and the builder opens with its current squad already loaded.

Choose a formation

The builder has all 16. These are the shapes most sides use; each page explains what the formation gives you, what it costs you, and which clubs actually set up that way this season.

More than a formation maker

  • Real, current squads. Players move as transfers complete, and injured or suspended players are flagged as you pick.
  • Predictions that get scored. Build a lineup for a real fixture and it is marked out of 11 against the official teamsheet, then counted on the leaderboard.
  • Sub calls. Name up to three substitutes you expect to come on, and see which ones came off on your scorecard.
  • A lineup image made for sharing. Every saved XI gets a link that unfurls as a pitch graphic, ready for a group chat or a post.

Lineup builder questions

Is the lineup builder free?

Yes. Building, saving and sharing a lineup is free, and you do not need an account to do it.

Can I build a lineup for my own team?

Yes. The custom builder lets you type a team name and your own players, pick a formation and share the result, so it works for a Sunday league side, a five-a-side group picking its best eleven, or a fantasy XI. It is built for eleven-a-side shapes.

Which clubs can I build with?

Every club in the leagues we cover, including the Premier League, the Championship, La Liga, Serie A, the Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and the Eredivisie, plus national teams. Squads update as transfers and injuries come in.

Can I use it to predict a real match?

Yes, and that is what most people use it for. Pick a club with a game coming up and your lineup becomes a prediction. When the official teamsheet lands about an hour before kick off, it is scored out of 11.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. The pitch, the player picker and sharing are all built for a phone first.

What is the difference between a lineup builder and a tactics board?

A tactics board is for drawing movement and set plays. A lineup builder is for choosing who starts and in what shape. This one is a lineup builder: pick the eleven, pick the formation, share it.
